Each year the month of October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Checking your breasts for abnormal changes is one of the most important things you can do for your health. It could save your life. This month, along with raising awareness to self-check, many brands are showing their support in different ways. From charity runs to fundraising meals, here’s how you can get involved.
The Pink Run, Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi

Pull on your trainers for the ADCB Zayed Sports City Pink Run, which over the past nine years has raised more than Dhs290,000 through the Al Jalila Foundation for breast cancer initiatives. You can either run or walk to raise funds and participants can choose between the 3km, 5km or 10km route. Registration is Dhs160 for adults and Dhs110 for children, with all proceeds going to the cause. The event is open to vaccinated participants with a ‘green’ status on their AlHosn app and a negative PCR test result.
Stay at the Pink Suite at Marriott Al Forsan, Abu Dhabi

For a completely pink experience, make your way to Marriott Al Forsan this October. The property’s Pink Suite – think pink decor, towels, tissues and even pink toilet roll – is part of Marriott’s Pinktober campaign, designed to raise awareness about breast cancer. The region’s only Pacific island themed resort has created special rooms with pink furniture, flowers and amenities for Pinktober. Guests can enjoy breakfast and a themed spa treatment during their stay. Stay for Dhs1,326 per night, and 50% of the proceeds will go direct to the Al Jalila Foundation.
Afternoon Tea at Bounty Beets, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi
One of the most Instagrammable spots in the city, Bounty Beets has launched the Pink Afternoon Tea. You tuck into an array of tasty delights, and all proceeds will go to the Al Jalila Foundation to raise awareness and promote the importance of early detection. Brunch at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina

The city’s renowned Bubbalicious Brunch, which features more than 10 live cooking stations, mixology counters, live music and entertainment for kids, is setting up a themed photo booth for Pinktober. All proceeds from the floral booth will be donated to Al Jalila Foundation. In exchange for a donation to the foundation, guests will receive pink ribbons and hats. Quirky and stylish, the W Lounge is the perfect place for a catch up with friends or colleagues. This month, for every pastry sold, half the amount will be donated to the #Pinktober campaign to raise funds for Al Jalila Foundation.

Why not party to raise funds and awareness for the cause? Perched on the 54th floor of the Sheraton Grand Hotel, super spot Larimar will be hosting a pink party and all the proceeds will go to Al Jalila Foundation. Put on your pink outfits for a night of unlimited pink drinks, hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment and the chance to win lots of incredible prizes. Buy P&G brands from Choithrams
Procter & Gamble, Choithrams and Zulekha Hospital have joined forces to increase awareness and promote breast cancer screening.
